Scolecophidia The Least Understood Creature On Earth

Scientists
brought into the revelation dozens of Australian species to the family
of small worm-like snakes known as Scolecophidia, which are some of the
least-understood creatures on
Earth. Researchers from France, Australia along with the United States
discovered the full set of chromosomes of 741 animals from 27 recognised
species in a subgroup known as
Australian blind snakes. Furthermore, a summary of the results published
in the Biological Journal of the Linnean Society exposed the fact that
the data recommended the number of species is at least two times the current number of recognised nominal species.

Another
prominent fact revealed that snakes are divided into two major groups
such as Scolecophidia, which are generally less than 30cm long, at the
same time the more common Alethinophidia inclusive of boas, pythons, cobras as well vipers.
